A.H. Hirsch 1974 16 Year Old Gold Foil
Aged to perfection, with a history that’s as warming as its unique blend, you can taste A.H Hirsch Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey’s character in every drop. The tale began in the spring of 1974 when batch of bourbon was ‘rescued’ from a small distillery near Scharfferstown, Pennsylvania, after the distillery ceased trading. Some was sold immediately, whilst the remainder was kept in Kentucky to continue aging. Fifteen years later, Adolph Hirsch, a former director of Schenley Distillers, discovered the batch. Recognizing the quality of the bourbon, now with 15 years of maturity, he acquired all 400 barrels, and gave it his own name.

An absolute gem. The palate brings together honey, cinnamon, and just a hint of leather, followed by a warm, lingering finish.

This is bourbon on another level. Each sip tells a story, with waves of vanilla, chocolate, and oak. Truly special.

A legendary release. The subtle tobacco and leather notes blend beautifully with the sweeter vanilla and spice.

Rich and complex! The layers of caramel and spice come through beautifully. It’s a piece of bourbon history, and worth every penny for a collector like me.
Ramon –
The woodiness in this bottle might be overpowering for some, but I love how it brings depth to the overall profile. It’s an aged beauty that tells a story in every sip.
Brent –
The palate is bold and assertive, with honey, dark fruit, and a pleasant spice kick. However, the wood finish is a bit overwhelming, giving it a tannic quality.
Rene –
It’s undeniably special. That said, the finish could have been smoother—it turns slightly bitter towards the end. Still, this bourbon is historic and elegant.
