A beautifully balanced whisky with hints of Seville oranges and a subtle layer of dark chocolate. Though I love its rich sherry influence, it feels slightly thinner compared to earlier editions. Still, a fantastic whisky, but not necessarily the best value for its price.

I’ve tried several Macallan 18-year-olds, and the 1997 release is one of the best. Rich and smooth, but I do think some of the more recent Macallan editions lack the depth I was expecting.
