Sazerac 18 Year First Release Bottled 2000
The Inaugural First Release of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection.
Since 2003, Buffalo Trace has been using the same distillate for all its Sazerac ryes. Apparently, there was enough rye distilled in 1985 for them to transfer it to steel tanks after 18 years, and since 2003, they have been drawing the Sazerac 18 from those same steel tanks. That makes the pre-2003 ryes even more unique since, unlike everything since ’03, they were made from the legendary Cream of Kentucky distillate

Sazerac 18 Year Old 2000 Release | 90 Proof
Scott Abbott –
The heavy malt character might not appeal to every bourbon drinker, but the craftsmanship and creativity are evident.
Erik Huberman –
A good whiskey to sip and think about. The balance between malt and bourbon flavors is impressive.
Zachary Collins –
This whiskey is for the adventurous drinker. Not a bourbon replacement but a great alternative if you’re looking to try something different.
Tom Aley –
I loved the sweetness and rich mouthfeel, though it does pack a punch at 108 proof.
Benjamin Plummer –
A complex whiskey with lingering oak and a touch of bitterness on the finish. Not my favorite in the series, but still worth trying.
Sterling Lanier –
It’s a great whiskey for exploring American malts, offering depth and a smooth finish, though a bit pricey for what it delivers.
