A.H. Hirsch 16 Year Blue Wax 1974
Distilled in 1974 at the Pennco (original Michter’s) distillery in Schaefferstown, PA. The “Blue Wax” is the original bottling of this 16yr bourbon that was subsequently put into steel vats for two later releases with a gold wax, and gold foil seal. Some barrels were left out of the vatting and continued to age, being sold at 18, 19, and 20 years of age.
In his book Cowdery refers to the bourbon as one of the “best whiskeys I’ve ever tasted.”

It’s more than a bourbon; it’s an experience. The complexity is out of this world with dark chocolate, tobacco, and subtle leather.
