The nose on this one is classic: butterscotch and oak. It intensifies as it opens up with richer caramel and spice notes, but still remains rather straightforward
Bourbon Culture –
Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year shows a light, silky body with big baking spice notes, nutmeg and cinnamon stick, and plenty of burnt sugar.
Breaking Bourbon –
2018’s Old Rip unfortunately doesn’t impress me at all. It has a nice mouthfeel and overall consistency, but it lacks a depth of flavor and is dominated by spice, oak, and a very dry finish
