Mike –
The nose is beautifully floral and fruity, much different from typical bourbon. The taste is a mix of tart dark fruits and spices, with just a hint of caramel and oak. It’s lighter and more mellow, a unique whiskey experience compared to other bourbons.
Curt –
I expected more from this 17-year-old bourbon, but it felt watery and weak. The flavor was light, dominated by wood and a bit of caramel, but it lacked the richness I hoped for at this price point. Overall, not impressive.
John –
Eagle Rare 17 is all about balance and subtlety. There’s no big oaky punch, which makes it a mellow, approachable whiskey. It feels like it’s designed more for Scotch drinkers than bourbon fans, but the caramel and wood notes in the finish make it enjoyable.
Josh –
This release was disappointing for the price. The body was light, and while there were some good caramel and toffee notes, it lacked the complexity and depth I expected from something aged this long. I’ve had better experiences with younger Eagle Rare bottles.
